Richard M. McClenahan, 94, passed away on January 18, 2018, in Grand Junction, CO.
He was born March 2, 1923, in Ogden, Utah, to Myrl and Norma McClenahan. Richard spent his childhood in Ogden, UT, graduating from Ogden High School, and attending Weber College (now known as Weber State University). Previous places of residence are California, Hawaii, and Japan. He has been a resident of Grand Junction for 25 years. In 1944 he married Darleen Keenan in San Diego, CA. She passed away June 1999.
He was a commander in the US Navy and a Marine Surveyor. He gave 30 years of service to our country and fought in three wars, earning a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was a good neighbor and friend.
Richard is survived by his sons, John (Sandy) McClenahan of Grand Junction, CO, and Keenan (Carrie) McClenahan of Huntington Beach, CA; daughter, Cathy (Kemp) Bohlen of Steamboat Springs, CO; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Inurnment with military honors will take place at a later date at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA.
