Mrs. Norma Ester Emery McClenahan, 40 wife of Myrl A. McClenahan, of the firm Hodgson & McClenahan, architects, died in a local hospital at two fifteen a.m. today of pneumonia. She had been ill since Thanksgiving night and at the hospital one week.
She was born Oct 29, 1896 in San Diego, Calif., a daughter of Edward C. and Margaretea Elizabeth Moore Emery. She attended school in San Diego and was graduated from a Los Angeles high school. She was a member of the Church of the Good Sheperd (Episcopal), the Episcopal Church guild and Golden Spike chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Her latter affiliation was due to the fact she was a direct descendant of Josiah Bartlett, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
Mrs. McClenahan came from a large pioneer family of California who settled in Sacramento. Her home was in Los Angeles after school graduation until she was married in Salt Lake City in 1917 to Mr. McClenahan, and since then the home has been in Ogden. The home now is at 2255 Madison Avenue.
Surviving are the husband; three sons and three daughters, Donald, Richard and John, Lois, Dorothy and Lucy; four sisters, Mrs. A. A.(Grace) Green and Mrs. Thomas B. (Marguerite) Curley of Los Angeles, Mrs. J. E. (Pearl) Bryan and Mrs. Lucy E. Eller of San Diego; two brothers, Henry U. Emery, San Diego, and Wm. L. Emery, Los Angeles.
Funeral announcement will be made by the Kirkendall-Darling mortuary.
