E. “Margaret” Ramsay, 94, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Wisconsin Dells Health Care Center in Wisconsin Dells. Margaret was born March 8, 1923, in the town of Caledonia, the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Fleming) Ramsay. She attended Indian Farm Grade School No. 3 in the town of Caledonia, and graduated from Portage High School in 1941. Margaret was employed by Wisconsin Power and Light Company, and was a union member of IBEW No. 965 for 50 years. Margaret was a charter member of the Portage Elkettes and a member of the Pioneer Club. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star of Bethlehem Chapter No. 100 in Portage, serving as the Grand Representative to Delaware in Wisconsin for the Eastern Star from 1993 to 1995. She had been the secretary for Chapter No. 100 since 1985. Margaret was also a lifetime member of Caledonia Presbyterian Church. She is survived by 2 sisters. She is further survived by many near and dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Agnes James, Ronald Ramsay, Ellsworth “Tom” Ramsay and Doris Schleicher. Burial will be in Shanks Cemetery in the town of Caledonia. The family would like to thank the Wisconsin Dells Health Care Center for the loving care provided to Margaret in her last days, and to Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home for their support during this most difficult time.
