Dellah V Dodge was born March 8, 1877, in Smith County, Tennessee, the first of three children and only daughter born to John Washington and Sallie J Dodge. Her family lived in Providence, Smith County, and in Hartsville, Trousdale County. After her mother's death in 1891, Dellah, along with her father and brothers Willard Ewell and Weldon Chester, joined half-brother James Andrew in McLennan County, Texas, where the family made their home in McGregor.
Dellah died October 19, 1900, at the age of 23.
