Agnes was the daughter of Meredith Amos and Ada Christina Midkiff Schultz. She married Edward Lee Brown in Dunbar, Kanawha Co, West Virginia on 28 October 1916. They had eight children: Christina, Paul, Charles, Ray, Dolly May, Betty, Barbara and George. She worked at the Fletcher Enamel Company in Dunbar before her marriage and for a while after.

She was employed by Ohio University at Scott Quadrangle prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Church of God on Columbus Road and was a former resident of the Pleasant Hill area and Race Street in Athens.

She was survived by all her children except Dolly May, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Brown in 1949, an infant daughter, Dolly May; three sisters, Dolly, Gladys and Mary, and two brothers, Ebel and Murl Schultz.

Services were at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Nichols officiating. Burial was in Pleasanton Cemetery.
