John was the son of Friend and Rachel Armstrong Weeks. John married Thankful Slade in Woodbury, Litchfield Co, CT on 16 March 1769. He served in the Revolutionary War from Connecticut in 1777. He served in Capt James Green's Company, 9th CT regiment of militia under Lt Col John Mead, 1777. He went from Washington, CT to Rutland County, Vermont in 1787 and settled in Clarendon.
