Craig W. Hruby, 76, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his residence in the Town of Meeme.
He was born April 17, 1942 in Manitowoc, to the late John & Frances (Konopacki) Hruby. Craig attended St. Andrew's Catholic Grade School. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1960. Craig then went on to apprentice at Manitowoc Engineering where he continued his career for over 30 years. On September 19, 1975 he married Pat Steffens at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Craig was raised on the family farm and enjoyed helping his current farming neighbors. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that asked him with anything he could, as he was very handy. Craig enjoyed going fishing and biking. His family was his pride and joy and he took care of them well.
Craig is survived by his loving wife, Pat, Meeme; his children: Brian (Barb) Hruby, Meeme, and Eric (Heather) Hruby, IA; his five grandchildren: Tim, Jessica, John, Marianne, and Alan; his brother, Jack (Karen) Hruby, WA; his sisters: Mary (Glenn) Komoaski, SC; Karen Hruby, AZ; Marge (Dennis) Jerabek, Crivitz; and Ann (Sam) Vallone, Pewaukee. He is further survived by his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Peggy Steffens, Manitowoc; Jim (Sue) Steffens, WA; Ann (Steve) Sayeski, Two Rivers; Rose Reed, Manitowoc; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Frances Hruby, sister, Pat Gottsacker, and brother-in-law, Joe Steffens.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm (NOON) on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (11928 Marken Rd, Kiel) with Rev. Patrick Nelson S.D.S. officiating. Per his wishes cremation has taken place and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Craig's name.
