William Dummermuth, 90, of Elgin, Iowa died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at his home in Elgin, Iowa.

William Andrew was born February 19, 1928 to Andrew and Ella (Cordes) Dummermuth on the family farm west of Elgin, Iowa. He graduated from West Union High School in 1946.

William was united in marriage with Delores Knox on October 15, 1950.

He bought the family farm and farmed there until his retirement in 2011, when William and Delores moved to Elgin.

William enjoyed tending his flowers, raising cattle, farming, playing cards and visiting with friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 352 in Elgin and St. Paul United Methodist Church.

William is survived by his wife, Delores Dummermuth of Elgin, Iowa; his children, Ranae Bickett of Fargo, North Dakota and Dee J. Dummermuth of Elgin, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Judy Dummermuth of Waterloo, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Zachary Bickett, Cameron Bickett, Tyler Bickett, Wade Bickett, Marc Dummermuth, Amy (Alex) Corkery, Angela Dummermuth and Andrea Dummermuth; one great-granddaughter, Rosalyn Corkery; nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Colin) Fritzler of Grand Junction, Colorado, Trace (Joleen) Lewark of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Skip (Loretta) Slyfield of Park City, Utah and Shannon (Mike) Silvestre of Spring, Texas.

William was preceded in death by his son, Jay D. Dummermuth; parents, Andrew and Ella Dummermuth; and two sisters, Dawn Slyfield and Sandra Lewark.

Graveside Services will be held August 5, 2018 at the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa. Times to be determined.
