Sandra "Sandy" Kae Lewark, 75, of Cheyenne died May 3 in Cheyenne.

She was born Jan. 27, 1935, the youngest daughter of Ella (Cordes) and Andrew Dummermuth in Elgin, Iowa.

She attended grade and high school at West Union Iowa Public School and became a registered nurse at the Methodist Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. Much later she received her bachelor's degree through the College of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill.

Before her retirement she spent 45 years in the nursing profession working in hospitals and clinics. The last 13 years were at the Wyoming Department of Health as a health care evaluator. She had many interests and hobbies including her cherished friends, knitting, sewing, bridge, cribbage and interior design.

Ms. Lewak is survived by her daughter, Kimberly; her son, Trace; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill (Deloris) Dummermuth of West Union; a sister, Dawn (Jack) Slyfield of McGregor, Iowa; and her devoted dachshund, Pocahontas, who was the love of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Denielle Kae.
