Ursula (Velst) Brandmire, age 73 of Columbia Heights passed away April 6th, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family. Ursula was born in Salzburg, Austria on May 30th, 1944 and came to America through Ellis Island with her parents Oct. 2, 1951 at the age of 7 years. Survived by husband Albert Brandmire; parents Fridrik and Herta Velst; daughter Andrea Tallman; son Timothy Tomsche (Jessica); granddaughters Danielle Tallman, Nicole Tallman, Brittany Tallman (Chris) and Cherry Tomsche (Joe); great grandsons Eligh Johnson and Declan Olson; best friends Mary Parker, Beverly Connor; as well as her stepchildren and the rest of the Brandmire family.

Throughout the years Ursula worked in the beauty business, at Honeywell, and retired as an ESL paraprofessional in the Columbia Heights school district where she helped many immigrants learn the English language. Ursula was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be missed dearly.
