Karen Anne England, 79, of Clarkston, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018. Karen was born Aug. 9, 1939, in Craigmont to Roy William Lockridge and Audrey “Wilma” Brogger Lockridge. She shares this birthday with her twin brother, Kay Lockridge, and the two had a very special bond that continued throughout their lives.

Karen married James Ralph Anderson “Andy,” and they had three children. Andy passed away in an accident in October of 1962, six days prior to the birth of their third child. Throughout the years she kept his memory alive, never letting go of the passion she felt in those early days.

Karen then met and married Finis England, adding one more child to complete this family. Together they were committed to raising their family with a lot of love, devotion and endless days of laughter.

In Karen’s younger days she enjoyed women’s bowling league, coaching her girls in softball and watching her son play baseball. She enjoyed drives in the country listening to Charlie Pride, fishing trips and Finis playing his guitar with everyone singing along.

Karen cherished her family beyond words. She was a caregiver to her mother for several years and then her father as he started to fail. It was after this time she started a job path of in-home care for others. She truly enjoyed meeting and helping the elderly.

We couldn’t end this story without mentioning the love Karen had for family pictures. We are certain her motto was “never have a bare wall.” It has to have pictures of kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and even the kids next door. In her final days, having her pictures (just a few of many) within view gave her great comfort.

Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; brothers Bill, Kenny and Donald; and husbands James Anderson and Finis England.

She is survived by her children; two brothers; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Craigmont Cemetery, and she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Finis. A luncheon will follow at the Craigmont City Hall, so please join us.

The family would like to thank those who cared for our mother: Tri-State Memorial Hospital, Evergreen Estates, Prestige Care Center, Dr. Gould and Theresa Smith, family nurse practitioner.
