Pauley was born September 6, 1942, in Shelbyville, Missouri, the son of Randall and Clara Estell (Nolte) Mahaffey.
He is survived by his three children, Pam Miles (Doug) of Houston, Texas, Jim Mahaffey (Kim) of Shelbina, Missouri, and Paul Mahaffey (Penny) of Donath, Alabama; grandchildren, Joshua Miles (Josephine) and Jordan Miles (Mollie) of Houston, Texas, Jordan Mahaffey of Shelbina, Missouri, Dakota Mahaffey of Kirksville, Missouri, Sean Mahaffey of Illinois, and Montana Mahaffey of Shelbyville, Missouri; great grandchildren, Euan, Tyler, and Evelyn Miles of Houston, Texas, and Axle Mahaffey of Illinois; and brothers and sisters, Herbert Mahaffey, Evelyn Brown, Joe Bill Mahaffey, Winnie Grable, Jim Mahaffey, Danny Mahaffey, Teddy Mahaffey, and Francie Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters, Daisy Ballard, John Mahaffey, and Fred Mahaffey.
Pauley worked as a truck driver throughout his life. He enjoyed going to sales and auctions. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
A memorial service and dinner will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 1pm at the Shelby County Senior Center in Shelbina, Missouri. All family and friends are welcome. Memorials may be made to the Shelby County Senior Center.
