(1933 - 2018)

Town of Two Rivers - James T. Kobes, age 85, of 715 CTH V, Town of Two Rivers, peacefully entered eternal life Sat. October 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a short battle of pancreatic/liver cancer.

Jim was born May 19, 1933 in Denmark to the late Bart and Theresa Blahnik Kobes. Jim married the former Dorothy Czarneski October 24, 1953 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pine Grove. He worked as a supervisor for the Mirro Mfg. Co. for 44 years and retired from there in 1996. After his retirement he enjoyed doing fieldwork for Dave and Terri at Wilfert Farms. He was a member of the Mishicot Sportsman's Club. He lived a fulfilling life where he and his family enjoyed going up north to their land and listening to Johnny Cash around the campfire. He loved telling many stories at family gatherings, giving advice and teaching his family how to live a "simple and happy life".

Jim is survived by his beloved wife: Dorothy. In their 65 years of marriage they raised six loving children: Dalen Kobes, Gary (Ruth) Kobes, Karen (Daniel) Bauknecht, Larry Kobes, Gene (Lynn) Kobes, Janice Morreau. His legacy will live on through his 16 grandchildren: Jessica LeClair, Nicole Kobes, Amanda Haag, Aaron Kobes, Sarah Kunz, Amy Sampe, Scott Bauknecht, Jacob Kobes, Cassandra Federer, Jerod Kobes, Lindsey Haag, Gaven Kobes, Laura Kobes, Jennifer Morreau, Rebecca Morreau, Erik Morreau, and by his 16 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers: Joseph (Alice) Kobes, George (Verna) Kobes, nieces, nephews and other special friends including Ronald and Betty Siebold. Jim was also preceded in death by his four brothers: Thomas, Frank, John, and Edward Kobes, two sisters: Mary Erdman and Ann Kreisa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot with the Reverend Jeffrey Briones officiating with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum, Hwy. 310 in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home 344 So. State St. in Mishicot. There will be a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church, until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in his name.
