Manitowoc - Jeanette Mae Leick, age 76, of Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening, October 24, 2018 at her residence with her loving family at her side.

Jeanette was born on May 9, 1942 in the town of Cooperstown, daughter of the late Victor and Martha (Lemberger) Opichka. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School, Kellnersville and graduated with the class of 1960 from Reedsville High School. On November 5, 1960 she married Alvin J. Leick at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Jeanette worked in the office at Imperial-Eastman from 1960-1966. She then worked for Copps Food Center from 1971 until her retirement in May of 2007. Many of those 36 years she was the manager of the Health and Beauty Care Department. Jeanette also was a care giver for her parents and her in-laws for 19 years.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the St. Clare Society. Jeanette enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Door County. She also loved gardening, yard work, crocheting, fishing, cleaning at church with the other ladies and helping others. Jeanette especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. Everyone enjoyed her homemade Kolaches.

Survivors include her husband: Alvin of 57 years, Manitowoc; two children and their spouses: Allan (Brenda) Leick, Manitowoc, and their children: Tom (Beth) Leick and their daughter: Samantha Leick; Jason Leick and Isabella Denk, Manitowoc; Sherry (Dan) Kugel, Newton, and their son: Josh Bowen, New Holstein; three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Opichka, Manitowoc; Helen Grimm, Reedsville; Delores Alfson, Sturgeon Bay; one brother-in-law: Paul (Betty) Kopidlansky, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Victor and Martha Opichka; one brother: Ronald Opichka; one sister-in-law: Joan Kopidlansky; two brothers-in-law: Fred Grimm; Ray Alfson; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Fred and Adeline Leick.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Doug LeCaptain will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
