Elizabeth M. "Betty" Hennings, age 81, of Plymouth, WI, passed away early Saturday morning October 6th, 2018, just two days short of her 82nd birthday. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 8, 1936 in Charlestown, WI, a daughter of the late Peter and Eleanora (Salm) Biese. Betty attended St Martin's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Chilton High School in 1954.
On January 8, 1963, Betty and Donald P. Hennings were united in marriage at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Charlestown. They were married for 47 years. The couple resided in Kiel, Ada, and then Elkhart Lake where they lived together for more than 40 years. Two years after her husband's passing Betty moved to Plymouth.
She was employed at Sargento Cheese in Plymouth for many years until her retirement. She made many lifelong friends during her employment there.
Betty was a former member of St. George Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake and was most recently a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.
Betty lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed keeping her home and yard in tip top shape. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and enjoyed keeping up with their lives and accomplishments. She was passionate about cooking and baking for her family. She enjoyed playing cards, doing yoga at Generations in Plymouth, going on gambling trips, cheering on her Green Bay Packers, going up North and fishing, and getting together with her siblings. She was also proud to have beaten cancer twice in her life.
She is survived by three daughters: Kathleen (Thomas) Conner of Hershey, PA, Karen Hennings (Gene Ohrmund) of Plymouth and Sherri (Rodney) Roth of Chetek, WI; six grandchildren: Jessica (Sean) Boyer, Ashley (Dave) Pulli, Alexis Hardin (Randy Beebe), Hannah (Josh) Royes, Addaline Roth (Spencer Harwood) and Ruger Roth; two great grandchildren: Rowan and Isabel Boyer; two brothers: Ken (Betty) Biese and Floyd (Bernice) Biese; one sister: Caroline (Clarence) Schneider; three sisters-in-law: Rogene Biese, Ruth Biese and Mary Jane Biese; and one brother-in-law: James Allinger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald; five brothers: Martin, Roman, Richard, Robert and Clarence Biese; two sisters: Delores (Gilbert) Veit and Eleanor (Robert) Gebhart; and one sister-in-law: Carol Allinger.
Funeral services will be held on Friday evening October 12th, 2018 at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Philip Reifenberg of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will officiate.
Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be in the Kiel City Cemetery.
The Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services is serving the family.
