GERTRUDE BIRRINGER
(1923 - 1975)

Mrs. Gertrude Birringer, 51, of 1035 N. 40th St. Manitowoc, died Sunday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home, and 11 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. A brother-in-law, the Rev. Raphael Birringer, S.D.S., will officiate with burial in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.

Mrs. Birringer, nee Gertrude Schamburek, was born Sept. 10, 1923, at Whitelaw, daughter of Louis Schamburek and the late Frances Augustin Schamburek. She attended St. Michael Catholic School, Whitelaw. She was married to Sylvester Birringer June 11, 1946, at St. Michael Catholic Church, moving to Manitowoc to reside. She was a member of Holy Innocents Parish and Christian Mothers Altar Society.

Survivors include her husband, a son, Kenneth, of San Francisco, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Jo, at home; her father, Louis Schamburek, of Whitelaw, a brother, Joseph of rural Cato, and five sisters, Mrs. Marie Franz, Mrs. Erwin (Agnes) Birringer, Mrs. Alphonse (Helen) Lemberger and Mrs. Philip (Rita) Junk of Manitowoc and Mrs. Peter (Esther) Braun of Whitelaw. A sister preceded her in death.

Friends may call at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m.
