Patricia Karstaedt, 84, of Kiel died Wednesday morning, November 21, 2018 at Willowdale Nursing and Rehab Center. She is the former Patricia Burkhardt, born on July 6, 1934 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Paul & Malinda (Fischer) Burkhardt. Pat attended various Sheboygan County Schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952. On July 18, 1953 she was united in marriage to Wilbert “Wimpy” Karstaedt at Community UCC in Elkhart Lake. Pat and Wimpy shared 52 years together before he preceded her in death on December 4, 2005.
Pat worked for many years at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein at a job she loved with many co-workers that she loved. She retired in 1996 after more than 35 years of service. She was a longtime member of Bethlehem UCC where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Pat became a member of St Peter UCC, Kiel after moving to Kiel in the 1970's
She enjoyed traveling with her family, watching Packer games and was an avid bingo player. Her biggest pride and joy was her family.
Survivors include two daughters; Bonnie (Butch) Waack, Kiel & Judy (David) Walber, New Holstein, daughter-in-law; Clare Karstaedt PA, four grandchildren; Nicholas Waack, Ashley Waack, Emily (Shaun) Raganyi and Andrew Walber, one great granddaughter: Ashlynn Waack. Pat is further survived by her beloved sister; Donna (Arlyn) Retlich, Kiel, two brothers; Paul Burkhardt Jr., Sun Praire & Ronald Burkhardt, Sheboygan Falls, numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved son; Randy Karstaedt in 2014, her husband, Wimpy, parents, brother-in-law: Wayne Truttmann, sister-in-law: Pat Burkhardt and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services for Pat will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, (815 6th Street, Kiel) with The Rev. Christopher Ross officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00PM until the time of Services. Burial will take place in the Schleswig Cemetery Rockville.
