Manager of B.C. Marine Railways Company, and president of the Compressed Gas Company. In 1913, he lived in Englesea Lodge at 2046 Beach Avenue. In 1914, he was at 2047 Pendrell Street.

He was born on January 24, 1867,{Archives state Dec 24th} in New Westminster, British Columbia. His father was Arthur Thomas Bushby (1835-1875), who was the postmaster general of British Columbia, a registrar and county court judge, as well as an amateur musician. George’s mother was Agnes Douglas (1841-1929), who was a daughter of Sir James Douglas (1803-1877), the first governor of the Colony of British Columbia.

When he was eight years old, he went to England for his schooling. Later he went to San Francisco, California, to become an apprentice engineer. Then he went to Victoria, British Columbia, to work as a marine engineer with his brother-in-law, William Fitzherbert Bullen (1858-1921) and William’s brother, Harry Frederick Bullen (1867-1924).

George arrived in Vancouver about 1898. By 1901, he was the local manager of the British Columbia Marine Railway; he was boarding at the Leland Hotel (628 Hastings Street).

On January 14, 1908, in Esquimalt, British Columbia, George married Violet Carlotta Brae. She was born in Sheffield, England, on July 16, 1876. Her father was James Allan Brae; her mother was Laura Fenoulhet.

George stayed in Vancouver until 1919; then he went to Victoria for two years. In 1921, he moved to Prince Rupert, British Columbia, where he set up a fishery production plant called Rupert Marine Products Limited.

In the 1926 federal election, George ran unsuccessfully as a Conservative candidate in the Skeena riding.
He remained in Prince Rupert until about 1932, when he moved to Victoria.

George died in Victoria on May 18, 1932. He was buried in Royal Oak Burial Park in Victoria.
Violet died in Vancouver on April 24, 1955. She was buried in Fraser Cemetery in New Westminster, British Columbia.

George and Violet had the following children.
Audrey Violet Annie Bushby was born on December 6, 1908, probably in Vancouver.

On February 5, 1935, she married Edward Leslie Shewell. He was born on November 8, 1902, in Bombay, India. His father was Arthur Poole Shewell (1867-1908); his mother was Mary Beatrice Lees (1866-1923).

Edward died in Durban, South Africa on July 25, 1979.
Audrey died on July 25, 2003, in Cape Town, South Africa.

John Sinclair Bushby was born on July 22, 1911, in Vancouver. He married Olga Inez Dias. She was born in Chile, on April 9, 1918. John later became an administrator for a private hospital.

John died in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, on June 22, 1883.
Olga died in Surrey, British Columbia, on October 24, 1991.
