Marjorie A. Spruill, 66, of Bellamy Manor in Virginia Beach, died Jan. 21, 1993, in her home.

Mrs. Spruill was born in Washington County, N.C., and formerly resided in Plymouth, N.C. She was a member of the Suburban Christian Church in Bellany Manor and was a former member and board officer of the Virginia Beach Christian Women's Club. For many years she taught CWC Friendship Bible Studies as well as Bible studies in her own church. She held several offices in the Bellamy Women Church Fellowship, was a member of the church choir and sang in the Billy Graham Crusade Choir in 1973 in Norfolk.

Her strong faith was a powerful witness during her illness as well as during her active life. She touched many lives with God's grace and glory and was an inspiration to all. Her greatest joy was in ministering to the spiritual needs of those in search of God's grace.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin L. Spruill; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Larry Ouzts Sr., Chesapeake, and Cindy and Lloyd Hitchings of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandchildren, Larry Jr. and Emily Ouzts; sisters, Blanche Ainsley and Marilyn Asby (Bowen), and Sue Hopkins, all of Cary, N.C.; brother, Ira Asby and his wife, Jackie, of Plymouth, N.C.; mother-in-law, Mrs. Velna Spruill of Roper, N.C.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earle, Mildred, Hazel, Raymond, Walter, Bobby, Jimmy, Philip, Patricia, Joyce; and a host of friends and relatives who will always cherish her memory.

The funeral service will be held in Suburban Christian Church on Saturday, Jan. 23, 1993, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. James A. Meads Jr. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach. Arrangements are by Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall, Kempsville Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
