Born on June 12, 1937, in Andrews, she was a daughter of the late Elie Davis Cox and the late Ruth Swails Cox. Mrs. Wilder was a member of Andrews Church of God and was a Vacation Bible School volunteer for many years. She had a great love for her fish and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Wilder had a quiet demeanor and would do anything for anyone.
Survivors include her husband of Andrews; four children, Betty W. Newton (Jerry) of Andrews, Walter E. "Gene" Wilder, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, David B. Wilder of Andrews and Sandra W. Smith (Don) of Andrews; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Lynn Wilder; one brother, D.W. Cox and one sister, Blondell Welch.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Andrews Church of God. Burial will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM Tuesday at the church.
