Freda DeWald
This is not strictly an obituary, but I would like to say a few words about Freda who was taken home June 18, 2003, following surgical complications. She was 89.
Freda's family was very dear to her. She was one of 11 children born to John and Anna De Wald, who were German immigrants from Russia. They were farmers in the Treasure Valley for many years.
Freda cared for her parents and helped other family members often. She was a resident of Nampa for many years, graduating from Happy Valley School, Nampa High School and NNC.
Freda was very fond of children and had great rapport with them. She was Zion Lutheran School's first kindergarten, first and second grade teacher.
And Freda loved the Lord. The members of Zion Lutheran Church will greatly miss her longtime presence and quiet ways. "I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart. ... I will be glad and rejoice in you..? A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 20, at Cloverdale Memorial Park in Boise.
