Irene Marie Barron, 88, passed away on a Monday, at Christian Park Health Care Center.

Irene was the daughter of Adolph and Sibella (LaFaut) Lippens.

She was united in marriage to Daniel “Copper” Barron on Oct. 1, 1949, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins. Irene was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock and was active with the Altar Society. She was also a former member of the Highland Golf Course and the VFW Auxiliary in Escanaba as well as an auxiliary member of the Gladstone Yacht Club. Irene loved spending time with her family. She loved everyone and never met a stranger.

Irene was survived by: sons, Robert (Barbara) Barron, Clifford (Barb) Barron, Wallace (Donna) Barron, Thomas (Linda) Barron and Patrick (Michelle) Barron; daughter, Janet (Scott) Zechel; 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Albert (Judy) Lippens, Adolph (Phyllis) Lippens Jr., Joseph (Joyce) Lippnes and John Lippens; sisters, Mary (John) Geniesse, Germaine (Dwaine) Taylor, Bernice (Richard) Caron, Rita (Russell) Taylor and Barb (Gary) Sheedlo and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Ben, Phil and Rene Lippens, sister, Alice Solis, granddaughter, Elizabeth Barron, grandsons, Bruce Barron and Mark Meyers and daughter-in-law, Willy Barron, late wife of Clifford Barron.

Visitation at the Skradski Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Francis Dobrzenski. Laid to rest in the Escanaba Township Cemetery.
