OTTUMWA

Mildred Stevens, 96, formerly of 1617 E. 2nd St., Ottumwa, died December 5, 2005, at the Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albia.

Mildred was born September 27, 1909 in Ottumwa to Charles and Mary Swanson Mabis. She married Robert Stevens on January 25, 1930 in Ottumwa; he preceded her in death on October 27, 1996.

Mildred was a homemaker and loved to garden and plant flowers.

She is survived by her son, Robert of Westminster, CA; three grandchildren, Bruce Stevens of Anaheim, CA, David Stevens of Las Vegas, NV, Laurie Arevalo of Anaheim, CA; three great-grandchildren, Robert Stevens, Alex Stevens and Steve Morrissey; and one great-great-grandson, Dawson Stevens. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Robert Cunningham.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Roberta Cunningham; and a brother, Millard O. Mabis.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2005, at the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home, with Rev. Norman Ward officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Memories Mausoleum.
