Eleanor A. Dassey, age 91, a resident of the Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, died early Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at the Hamilton Home.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Sonia Alvarado, with burial to take place Monday, March 1, 2004 at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

Eleanor was born August 13, 1912 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Ernst and Emma (Boldt) Krueger. She attended Manitowoc schools, graduating from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. On Nov. 19, 1931, she married Lester J. Dassey in Rockford, Ill. He preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2000. She was a longtime member of Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers Senior Citizens, and enjoyed bowling, knitting and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Joyce and James Damman, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Neil and LaVerne Dassey, Mishicot; seven grandchildren: Tim Dassey, John Dassey, Kathy (Jim) Koch, Peggy (Phil) Dufek, Lynn (Chad) Lesperance, Suzanne (Brian) Schermetzler, and Tom (Kristine) Damman; 11 great-grandchildren: Tania and Kristopher Huycke, Heather and Kimberly Dufek, Nicole and Brandon Lesperance, Jacob and Arianna Schermetzler, Justin Kelliher, and Elise and Bryce Damman. She is further survived by two nieces: Marilyn (Doyle) Grant, and Sharon (Don) Alloy; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Anita (Emil) Khail, and Jeanette (Victor) Wolf; and by two stepsisters: Lila Krueger and Erna (Marshall) Schroeder.

Friends may call at Emanuel United Methodist Church after 3 p.m. on Sunday until the time of service at 4:30 p.m. Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, is assisting the Dassey family with funeral arrangements.
