Joan L. Gospodarek, age 82, a former Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Unity Hospice Residence in DePere.

Joan was born October 20, 1932 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and Meta (Ziemmer) Kattner. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. On June 21, 1952 she married Chester J. Gospodarek at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2009. Together they lived in the cities of Manitowoc and Mishicot, where they owned and operated Mishicot Lockers and Meat. They also resided in Pound, at their cherished White Potato Lake Home.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Randal and Susan Gospodarek, Two Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Jon Schwalbe, North St. Paul, MN; four grandchildren: Dr. Jason Gospodarek, Green Bay, Alisha (Nick) Dewey, Mishicot, Rochelle (Tim) Goeltz, Luxemburg, Daniel Gospodarek, Two Rivers; and four great grandchildren: Adalyn and Brady Dewey, Mishicot and Kara and Hallie Goeltz, Luxemburg. She is also survived by one sister: LaVern (Hartlaub) Leitermann, Manitowoc; and one sister-in-law and her husband: Dorothy Kokron and John, Niles, Ill. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Leona and Frank Gospodarek; one grandson: Andrew Schwalbe; one sister and brother-in-law: Dorothy and Chester Dempsky; two brothers-in-law: Clem Hartlaub and Francis Lietermann; three brothers-in-law and their spouses: Stanley and Harriet Gospodarek, Gene and Carol Gospodarek, Paul and Rosemary Gospodarek; two nephews: James Hartlaub and Gerry Kokron and four nieces: Jackie Gospodarek, Kathy Gospodarek, Marcie Gospodarek and Jenny Polasek.

Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Private Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel with burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.

Joan L. Gospodarek, age 82, a former Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Unity Hospice Residence in DePere.
