Mrs. Meta K. Kattner, 77, of 1310 S. 20th St., Manitowoc died Thursday morning
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Norval W. Kock will officiate with burial
in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Kattner, nee Meta Ziemer, was born Dec. 16, 1899, at Menominee, Mich.,
daughter of the late Julius and Margaret Ziemer. She was married to Joseph F.
Kattner June 30, 1919, at Manitowoc, and worked with her husband at Joseph Kattner
Food Market, 1701 Madison St., Manitowoc, for many years. He preceded her in death
March 8, 1967. She was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church and
Manitowoc Homemakers.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Chester (Dorothy) Dempsky, of Rt. 3,
Manitowoc, Mrs. Clemens (LaVerne) Hartlaub, of Newton and Mrs. Chester (Joan)
Gospodarek, of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Ella) Herzog, of Manitowoc and
Mrs. Elsie Brosch, of Oshkosh, 12 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and an
aunt, Mrs. Bertha Schmidt, of Oshkosh. A grandson and son-in-law, Clemens Hartlaub,
preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday until 11:30 a.m.
Saturday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in
state until the time of service.
