~
In memory of our dear baby daughter:
To Ruth Marie (Feb. 21 - March 1, 1925)
~
They say they have buried you, darling.
In the grave-yard just over the way;
But we know that they must be mistaken,
For what they have buried was clay.
~
And you are a bright angel spirit,
Sent to us from the dear Lord above.
You are living with him, now, in Heaven
Kept there by Omnipotent Love.
~
With heavenly, angelic, sweetness;
You came to our hearts and our home.
With hearts full of love we recived you,
And prayed that you never should roam,
~
But only a few days rejoicing----
Then, suffering, sorrow, and pain---
Then, hope, with its healing and comfort,
Hope - that we may see you again.
~
Not in vain have you lived, Oh my darling!
For the memory of your little life,
Shall be our guiding star to the Homeland,
Though, the trials of earth may be rife.
