Long Illness Proves Fatal To Ferdinand Karl, 72, At His Home Monday
In ill health for several years and confined to bed for about a week, Ferdinand Karl, 72, former street department employe, and for years an operator of a farm near Marshfield, died at his home at 2305 13th street at 3:05 Monday afternoon. Death was ascribed to complications.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 from the home and at 9 o’clock in St. Mark’s Catholic church, with the Rev. Peter J. Nilles officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. The remains were taken to the residence from the Beduhn and Goetz funeral home late this afternoon where they can be viewed until 8:30 Thursday morning.
The deceased was born in Germany Sept. 5, 1862(sic). At the age of two years he came to this country with his parents and settled on a farm near Marshfield where he resided most of his life. Following the death of his first wife he married Amelia Bauer of St. Paul, 22 years ago. She survives him. Seventeen years ago the family came to this city and remained for more than ten years. After several years residence at Norwalk, Wis., the family returned to this city.
Besides his widow, the deceased leaves seven daughters, Mrs. Casper Berg of Milwaukee, Mrs. Ernest Buschman of this city, Miss Frances Karl of Milwaukee, Miss Rose Karl at home, Mrs. Louis Cretton of this city, Mrs. Gilbert Trudeau of Green Bay and Mrs. William Koeser of this city. There are also 13 grandchildren.
