Mr. Melvin L. Ridgely

Mr. Melvin Lee Ridgely died suddenly Saturday May 10 at this home, at 6000 13th St., N.W., Washington, D.C.


He was 74 years old and was the former postmaster of Gaithersburg and lived most of his life in Montgomery County.


The husband of Mabel Sullivan Ridgely, he, is also survived by the following children: Melvin Lee Ridgely Jr., Kensington; Eugene Ridgely, Washington D.C.; John W. Ridgely, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Carolyn Harvey, Rose Haven. Also surviving are; one brother, William F. Ridgely, Fla.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held a the Gartner-Sandison Funeral Home, 316 Diamond Ave., Gaithersburg on Tuesday, May 13 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Oak Cemetery, Gaithersburg.
