From The Republic, Meyersdale, Somerset Co, Pennsylvania, published 21 Jun 1923, Thu: "Heart disease claimed William H. Walker, retired farmer, while he was in his bedroom at his home near Berlin Monday evening. A few minutes before he died he had been sitting on the front porch, apparently in the best of health, although it was known that he suffered at times from such an ailment.
Funeral services were held at the Pike Brethren church at 10 a.m. Thursday and were conducted by Rev. T.R. Coffman of Meyersdale.
Mr. Walker was born in Stonycreek township Sept. 1, 1845, a son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Walker who were direct descendants of early settlers in Somerset county. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Hannah Miller Walker and four sons and daughters: Elmer, Charles, Frank and Howard, all of Brothersvalley township; Myrtle of Huntingdon, and Mrs. Mabel Winters of Somerset township. One sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Miller of Scalp Level, and a large number of grandchildren survive also."
