Lowell Thomas Perdue
March 18, 1934 - September 12, 2019

Lowell Thomas “Tommy” Perdue, 85, of (Brushfork), Bluefield, WV, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 12, 2019.

Born on March 18, 1934 in Brushfork, he was a son of the late Giles S. and Sally Caldwell Perdue.

He had been a lifelong resident of Brushfork and was a member of the Brushfork Baptist Church. He was retired from the mining industry where he worked on mining motors for most of his working career. He loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing, and working in his yard. Most of all, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of his life, but he was truly the light of all of our lives. 85 years was not long enough to have our husband, soulmate, best friend, hero and popal. Heaven is rejoicing because it gained a one-of-a-kind angel but here on earth he will be extremely missed, and a huge hole is in our hearts. Love ya Pops!

Left to cherish his beautiful memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Katie (Jeanette) Dunford Perdue of the home; three sons, Thomas “Anthony” (Debbie) Perdue of Brushfork, Mark (Karen) Perdue of Brushfork and Robert (Julie) Perdue of Bluewell; one daughter, Robin (Patrick) Watkins of Brushfork; four grandchildren, Eric Perdue, Arin Perdue, Kristin Farley, and Corey Watkins; two step grandchildren, David Riggs and Stephanie McGlothlin; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Howard “Jack” Perdue of Princeton; two sisters, Shirley George of Bluefield and Tootsie Bond of Roanoke, VA; and his fury four legged pal, Holly.

Services to honor his special life will be conducted on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Wes Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Perdue, Arin Perdue, Corey Watkins, Jamie Farley, Phillip George, David Riggs, Jimbo Gibberson along with Anthony, Mark and Robert who want to carry their dad as he always carried them. Friends may call prior to services on Monday, from 10:00-11:00 at the funeral home. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Perdue family.
