Louis J. Slager, age 87, formerly of 11229 Cty, Trk. NN, Menchalville, died Sunday, July 31, 1994, at North Ridge Care Center.


Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 1994, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Rev. Ronald Colombo will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum.


He was born March 7, 1907, in the town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, son of the late Emil and Barbara Dufek Slager. He grew up and was educated at area schools. He farmed on the homestead his whole life. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society, a member of the Reedsville Sportsman Club and Rockea Hunting Club. Louis enjoyed fishing, hunting and auctions.


Survivors include two sisters, Clara Herrmann, Mayme Nate, bothe of Manitowoc; special friends Molly Korinek, Leonard and Luella Schleis and family, all of Menchelville; nieces and nephews include, Herbert Herrmann, Leonard Slager, Jeanne Hynek, Sher Kerns, Keye Menacher, Richard Slager and Barbara Janowitz; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Edwin Slager.


Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and on Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. led by Sr. Marlene Greatens at 7:30 p.m.
