He had ten siblings, namely: Lucy Ray, Elsie May, Bernie Edward, Bessie Mae, Myrtle A., Viola Ora, Juanita Georgina, Fred Henry Sr., Evelyn Maxine, and Infant Son.

When he was 26, he married Catherine Mable Washausen, daughter of Adolph Henry Washausen and Mable Laura Hanks, on May 30, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

He died at the age of 66 on Aug 18, 1975, in St Louis, Missouri, USA. He was buried in Pagedale, St Louis, Missouri at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens.
