Nellie Breen was born June 25, 1894 in Allendale, Michigan to Paul Breen and Maria Oostdijk Breen. She was from a family with 3 boys and 3 girls. Her family was a close family, but she was especially close to her sister Anna. They lived near eachother their whole lives.

Nellie was married in 1920 to Edward Everett Scharphorn. From this marriage, she had three sons; Everett, Melvin, and Gordon. Unfortunately, this marriage ended in divorce.

She was married a second time to John Wigger, a widower whom she met through her sister Anna and husband, Peter Cook. John had four children from his first marriage, Mabel, Paul, Kenneth, and Beryl. Nellie and John had a happy marriage until his death on July 29, 1975.

Nellie died on June 11, 1982 in Holland, Michigan.

WIGGER- Mrs. John Wigger, aged 87, formerly of Holland, passed away Friday morning at Sandy Creek Nursing Center, Wayland. Surviving are five sons, Everett Scharphorn of Dearborn Heights, Melvin Scharphorn of Middleville, Paul and Beryle Wigger both of Holland, Ken Wigger of Kent Washington; a daughter Mrs. Mabel Elenbaas of Zeeland; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gordon (Peggy) Scharphorn of Grand Rapids; 16 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon 1 o'clock at the Notier-VerLee- Langeland Chapel, Holland with Rev. Lee R. Smits of the Prospect Park Christian Reformed Church officiating. Interment Borculo Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home.
