SCHMIDT - James R. Schmidt age 91 passed away peacefully and went to be with Jesus Mary and Joseph, on Friday March 27, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his precious wife Celestine, infant daughter Judy, his parents, in laws, his siblings Bernie (Vera) Schmidt, Tom Schmidt, Barbara Meyer, Shirley (Jack) Sikors; stepchildren Julie Hansen White, Nancy Hastings Hansen, John Hansen; nieces Cathy Schmidt, Patti Sikors Garrett.

He is survived by his loving, caring wife of 29 years Phyllis Hansen-Schmidt; his children Jim (Kathleen) Schmidt, Janet (Keith) Johnson, John Schmidt (Theresa Martin), Joan (Jerry) Hallberg, Jean (Bob) Scribner, Jacky Schmidt, Jerri (Doug) Larkin; stepchildren Denise (Daniel) Duba Sr., Roger (Helen) White, Rick (Christy) Hansen, Mary Fuerst, Patrick Hansen, Michelle (Brian) Sulak; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchild, nieces and nephews; his sister Peggy Keenan; sister in law Stella Schmidt; brother Tom Balke, Janice (David) Sidor, Patricia Hansen, many friends, especially Howard and Alice Perrin.

Jim was a charter member of the Bishop Plagens 3104 Knights of Columbus for many, many years. Jim was loved and respected by many whose lives he touched. He loved and cared for all of us and truly lived the faith he believed in. He will be missed so very much.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Thank You to Metro Health Doctors and Nurses who always took good care of Jim through the years.
