Roy was the oldest child of Abe and Belle Amos. When he was young he fell in love with a girl who ran off with someone else and broke his heart. He had a lot of friends but never married. He was always a cowboy and one particularly bad winter he was staying by himself in a line shack somewhere on the rim between Heber and Payson. He ran out of supplies and thought he could ride out to get some. A big storm hit while was out in it. They found his frozen body in the fall. He had written out his will and put it in a coffee can. It was found there with him. Like his siblings, he was a grandchild of Corudon Cooley and named after him.
