Edwin F. Gessert, age 77, of 16125 Tannery Rd., Mishicot, entered into eternal life Friday afternoon, November 15, 2013 at the Parkview Manor Nursing Center, of Green Bay.

Ed was born June 2, 1936 in the town of Plymouth, Sheboygan Co. to the late Edwin and Verona Holtzmann Gessert. He attended the Plymouth High School. Ed married the former Martha Schleis, and later married the former Nancy Neuser, on October 23, 1971 in Kellnersville. He was employed for 43 years for the Hamilton Manufacturing Co. and worked there as a Group Leader. He then drove milk truck, and later farmed in the town of Two Creeks. He was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills and a member of the Mishicot-Tisch Mills, Knights of Columbus Council #4807. Ed enjoyed attending auctions, and watching the Weather Channel.

He is survived by his wife: Nancy, one daughter: Tammy Le Cloux, and her fiance: Chad Lesperance, both of Newton, four sons and daughters-in-law: Edwin F. and Mary Gessert III, of Two Rivers, Randy and Lynn Gessert, of Mishicot, Kenneth and Janice Gessert, of Manitowoc, Todd and Sandy Marmes, 8 grandchildren: Dylan Gessert, Cory, Craig Gessert, Tina Stueck, Brad (Sara) Smith, Brandon Smith, Jennifer Gessert, Nichole, step-grandchildren, Josh, Val, and Darren Marmes, 5 great-grandchildren, and is further survived by two sisters: Helen (Robert) Abhold, Verona (James) Keller, all of Plymouth, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson: Jesse Le Cloux, four sisters: Margaret Smith, Louise Braatz, Lucille Rosenthal, Marjorie Bruggink, and by three brothers: George, Jerome, and Fred Gessert.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills, with the Reverend Dennis Drury officiating, with Deacon Robert Pribek as homilist. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot. There will be a 7:00 p.m. parish wake service Monday at the funeral home led by Deacon Bob. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church, until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
