Obituary: Eagle Democrat, Warren, Arkansas, May 8, 1968 - Rev. Charlie Carter - "Rev. Charlie Carter, 86, of Route 1, Warren, died suddenly Thursday, May 2, at the Bradley County Memorial Hospital. Rev. Carter was a well known Bradley County minister. He had pastored Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church near New Edinburg and Hopewell Baptist Church in Bradley County. Rev. Carter was a native of Nevada County, Arkansas. He was born November 18, 1881, the son of the late E. S. Carter and Carolyn Kirby Carter. Rev. Carter was a Mason, a member of the Woodmen of the World and a member of Emmaus Baptist Church.

"Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Johnnie Elizabeth Carter, Warren; two sons, Paul Norman Carter, El Dorado and Herbert Carter, Warren; one daughter, Mrs. George Smith, Warren; four brothers, T. A. Carter, Warren, Joe Carter, Minden, La., Henry Carter, Texarkana and John Carter, Farmington, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Roxie Kitchens, New Edinburg and Mrs. Lilly Harris, Warren; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. W. O. Tomlin, Rev. Gordon Reddin and Rev. Harry Attebury. Burial was in Moseley Cemetery by Frazer Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Woodrow Armstrong, Roy Burks, Brawner Hernsberger, Bill Dunlap, David Barnes, Eddie Carr, Corbitt Murrell and J. E. Harrelson. All ministers served as honorary pallbearers."
