She taught school for 39 years--all eight grades up until her last 10 years of teaching. She taught at Crow (which she attended as a child), Liberty, Ohio, Lower Union, Oak HIll, Old York and Orange Township. She was at Orange township when she retired. She was having eye trouble with glaucoma and the doctor told her to quit or run the risk of blindness.

Mrs. France, a victim of both Alzheimer's disease and a paralyzed throat, was cared for by her husband during the last five years of her life.

She is buried in Martinsville, IL.

In loving memory of my wife, Iceley (Nidey) France, who passed away one year ago March 16, 1989.

From this world of pain and sorrow, God has taken you where you will have eternal rest.

More and more we miss you. Friends may think the wound is healed, but little they know the pain and sorrow that lies within our hearts concealed. Days of sadness still come over us, hidden tears so often flow. Memories keep you always with us although God called you home one year ago. Sadly missed by her husband, Harley.
