Fern Dix, 94, of Creston died of a heart ailment Monday at Crest Haven Care Centre there. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Creston, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cromwell.
Mrs. Dix was born in West York, Ill., and had lived in Greene County before moving to Creston nearly 60 years ago. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include four daughters, Frances Winship of Osceola, Thelma Jones of Creston, Shirley Davenport of Des Moines and Karen Ripperger of Grinnell; four sons, Hubert Jr. of Pontiac, Ill., Richard of Greenfield, Gerald of Council Bluffs and Robert of Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Eva Jean Dix of Springfield, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
