Mrs. Dix was born in West York, Ill., and had lived in Greene County before moving to Creston nearly 60 years ago. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include four daughters, Frances Winship of Osceola, Thelma Jones of Creston, Shirley Davenport of Des Moines and Karen Ripperger of Grinnell; four sons, Hubert Jr. of Pontiac, Ill., Richard of Greenfield, Gerald of Council Bluffs and Robert of Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Eva Jean Dix of Springfield, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
