Joseph M. Sabol
Joseph M. Sabol, 81, of Ramey passed away Monday, May 28, 2007 at 7:36 pm.
Mr. Sabol was born in Chesterfield, PA on December 28, 1925, the son of the late Alexander and Anna (Duke) Sabol.
He served in the U.S. Army in WW II in the European and Pacific Theaters.
He retired as a heavy equipment operator from the K & J Coal Co.
Mr. Sabol was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church Ramey, PA. He was president of the Chesterfield Lodge of the Nation Slovak Society. He was a past Ramey Borough Councilman for many years and a member of the Janesville V.F.W. Post 6321.
On Oct. 22, 1949 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey he married the former Ann Russin who survives in Ramey.
Mr. Sabol is survived by three children; Eileen McKeown and her husband Richard of Grampian,
Judy McCauley and her husband Michael of Elkins, WV, and Joseph Sabol and his wife Joyce of Poquoson, VA.
Also surviving are the following grandchildren; Dennis Barrett and his wife Shelly, Brian Barrett, Lea McCauley, Ian McCauley and great granddaughter, Jade Barrett. The following step grandchildren survive, Jason Cook, Josh Cook and two step great grandsons, Jacob and Allen.
Mr. Sabol is survived by two brothers and three sister; Walter Sabol of Lockport, NY, Albert Sabol of Erie, Velma Ondo of Moshannon, Cecelia Sabol of Erie and Anna Jaworek of Kenmore, NY.
A number of nieces and nephews survive.
He was preceded in death by the following sisters and brothers; Mary Luksic, Catherine Ciprich, Amelia Zamborsky, Alex Sabol, John Sabol, Anthony Sabol and twin infant brothers.
Friends will be received on Thursday, May 31, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Friday, June 1, 2007 from 9-10:30 am at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc., Ramey. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 3:30 pm Thursday in the funeral home by Fr. Zab Amar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 1, 2007 at 11:00 am in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey. Fr. Zab Amar will be the celebrant and interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ramey where the Janesville V.F.W. post will conduct military honors
