Robert was the son of Charlie "Bro Jack" Jackson Sr and Marie Hutchings Jackson, the 4th of 12 children. He was educated in the Jones County School System. He stopped school in his junior year to get a job and help send his sister, Lucy, to college. He was empolyed with Peach State Amusements for over 30 years as a Truck Driver. He was the owner and operator of the Jackson Restaurant in Sandersville, Georgia. He was also an in demand pool table coverer, having among his clientele Hank Aaron and Elton John.

He received "The Call" into Ministry in 1956 but did not start Preaching until 1957 under the auspices of Bishop P. J. Welch of Healing Temple Ministries Inc. He Pastored Churches in Milledgeville, Georgia and Sandersville, Georgia. He joined Bell's Temple A.O.H. Church of God under the leadership of Bishop L. M. Bell in Macon, Georgia. Bishop Bell sent him to Pastor Forsyth A.O.H. Church of God in 1975. The Church later changed its name to the Powerhouse Apostolic Church of Promise in Forsyth, Georgia. Bishop Jackson was still Pastoring there at the time of his demise. Over his Pastoral career, he went from Ordained Elder to Assistant Overseer to Overseer to Bishop-Elect and Bishop.

Robert was married to Josephine Louise Holland Jackson on May 19, 1955. He was preceded in death by 6 sisters: Louise Wilson, Camilla Jackson, Josephine Conway, Lucy Rooks, Helen Jackson and Amelia Jackson and 1 brother: Charlie Jackson Jr.

Wife: Josephine "Jo-Mae" Jackson.
1 Daughter: Co-Pastor Jacqulyn Merkerson(William).
1 Brother: Joseph Daniel "JD" Jackson.
1 Sister-In-Law: Chastine Meno(Ronald).
1 Brother-In-Law: Willie Lee Holland.
A Devoted Nephew: Elder Frank Hamm.
2 Devoted Cousins: Kent Hunt and Bob Hunt.
3 Grandchildren: Jackie Taylor(Terry), Stephanie Johnson and Theresa Johnson.
8 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 3PM in the Sanctuary of Abundant Word of Grace Church in Macon, Georgia with Bishop Rufus Sanders officiating.
