J.D. was the son of Charlie Jackson and Marie Hutchings Jackson, the last of 12 children. He was educated in the Jones County School System and the Bibb County School System. He was employed with Transco Incorporated in Macon, Georgia as a Welder. He was later employed with Georgia Power for over 20 years until his retirement. He enjoyed watching football and basketball and loved to dress sharp. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by 6 sisters: Louise Wilson, Camilla Jackson, Josephine Conway, Lucy Rooks, Helen Jackson and Amelia Jackson and 3 brothers: Charlie Jackson Jr, Johnny Jackson Sr and Bishop Robert H. Jackson.

Survivors:
1 Daughter: Sabrina Renee Sears.
1 Son: Joseph Bernard Spry.
2 Devoted Nieces: Nadine Logan and Michelle Asbey.
1 Devoted Nephew: Frank Hamm.
5 Grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 12PM in the Middle Georgia Memory Gardens Cemetery in Jones County, Georgia.
