Funeral services were held Sunday Evening for Henry Schmitt, 64, a Town of Schleswig resident, who died at St. Nicholas Hospital Saturday morning. He had been a patient at the hospital for four days.
The Rev. Vernon Jaberg, pastor of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Kiel, officiated at the services held at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel.
Committal rites were held this afternoon at the Schmitt Cemetery, Town of Rhine.
Mr. Schmitt was born in the town of Rhine Sept. 12, 1897, the son of Philip and Gustine Schmitt.
He operated the home farm until 1955 when he went to live with his brothers at Cedar Lake. He was not married.
Surviving are four brothers, Peter, Philip and Alfred, all of Cedar lake, and Martin, New Holstein; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Kaiser, Sheboygan and Miss Martha Schmitt, Manitowoc.
