Mrs. Augusta Schmitt, 76, a life-long resident of Sheboygan County, died Saturday afternoon at her home in the town of Rhine following a short illness.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Lindberg, pioneer county residents, the deceased was born January 17, 1872, in the town of Greenbush. She was married to Phillip Schmitt in the town of Rhine on April 4, 1892. The couple made their home in Rhine township since that time.
Survivors are two daughters, Miss Martha Schmitt, at home, and Mrs. Harvey (Minnie) Kaiser, Sheboygan; five sons, Peter, Henry, Philip and Alfred, town Rhine, and Martin, Kiel; nine grandchildren, and two brothers, William of Plymouth and Harry of New London. Her husband died in 1924.
Funeral services will be held at Meiselwitz Funeral home at Kiel with the Rev. E. L. Worthman, pastor of St. Peter and Paul Reformed church, officiating. Burial will be made in Christian Association cemetery in the town of Rhine.
