Emilia E. Bloms, 89, Minot, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Emilia Elizabeth Kraft was born April 16, 1923, in Karlsruhe to Fred and Agnes (Niess) Kraft. She was raised and attended school in Karlsruhe. Emilia married Arnold Bloms on July 31, 1945, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe. Following their marriage they made their home in Minot, where they raised their family. After their children grew up, Emilia was employed at the Elks Lodge in Minot for 19 years, where she was a fabulous cook. Her husband Arnold passed away on March 11, 1991.

Emilia was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. She enjoyed baking, doing embroidery, gardening and playing cards. She enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show, All-Star Wrestling and the Minnesota Twins on television. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those who shared in her life.... children, Pat (Blaine) Erie, Mesa, Ariz., Kathy (Tim) Meuth, Watford City, Roger Bloms, Frederick, Colo., Jan (Rick) Lawrence, Scranton, Pa., Pam (Paul) Slauter and Sandy (Tim Ryan) Bloms, all of Minot; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Irene Bloms and Florence Bloms, both of Minot. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Emilia was preceded in death by... her husband, Arnold; son, Timothy; sisters, Catherine Strong, Barbara Volk, Anna Black, Mary McCutcheon and Agnes Kraft; brothers, Fred and Paul Kraft.

Funeral: Monday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Vigil Prayer service: Today, Sunday, Dec. 30, at 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Visitation: Today, Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Bishop Ryan Catholic Schools or Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Food Pantry, both in Minot.
