Arnold M. Bloms was born July 3, 1920, in Muskego Township, Renville County, near Foxholm, to William and Mathilda (Keller) Bloms. He was reared and educated there and in June 1942 he entered the US Army. He served during World War II, spending 18 months in Europe, and was discharged in September 1945. He married Emilia Kraft July 31, 1945, in Karlsruhe. After their marriage, he began employment with the Burlington Northern Railroad where he held various positions until 1981 when he retired.
