Leonard J. Bloms was born April 6, 1918, in Carpio, North Dakota, the son of William and Mathilda (Keller) Bloms. He was reared and educated in Carpio and later joined the National Guard. Leonard entered the United States Army on April 1, 1941, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged on November 15, 1945. After his discharge Leonard went to work for General Metalcraft in Olympia, Washington.

Leonard returned to North Dakota and moved to Voltaire where he owned and operated a bar for a number of years until he retired. After his retirement he moved to Minot.

He is survived by a daughter, Robin Waddell and two sisters, Florence and Irene Bloms.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Bloms and his parents and brothers, Alex, Frank, Edward, Joseph, Raymond and Arnold Bloms.
