Arthur R. Hafeman, 69, formerly of 909 Monroe St., died Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Veterans Hospital, Downey, Ill. He had been ill since 1938.

He was born in Oshkosh on Sept. 11, 1892, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hafeman, and served as a carpenter's mate first class during World War I. A single man, he had resided most of his life in Oshkosh.

Mr. Hafeman was a member of the local carpenters union and former member of Cook-Fuller Post 70 of American Legion.

Surviving are two brothers, John and Gust Hafeman, Oshkosh; one sister, Mrs. Meta Goodland, Oshkosh: nieces and nephews.

Services have been tentatively set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Seefeld Funeral Home, with the Rev. Erling W. Rabe, pastor of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Thursday after 4 p.m. until the hour of services.
