The funeral of the late Mrs. Axton will leave her late residence, Nile, Friday, 15th February, at 3 o'clock, for interment in the Church of England Cemetery, Nile. Friends invited to attend.

About People.
A very old and highly respected resident of the Nile, in the person of Mrs. J. Axton, sen., passed peacefully away at her residence early on Wednesday morning, at the ripe age of 86 years. The deceased had been ailing for some time, so the end was not unexpected. Her husband pre-deceased her six months ago. Mrs. Axton was born at Haddington, Scotland, and came to Tasmania in 1849. She was a colonist of 59 years. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon at the Nile. There was a large attendance, Rev. C. H. Shedden conducting the service. Special hymns were sung by the choir, Miss Turner presiding at the organ.
